What is set before you choose
No analytics tag is loaded until you opt in. The measurement script is injected only after consent, Google Consent Mode is used, and IP addresses are anonymised. Before that, the only storage in use is what the site needs to function: your reading position, your interface language, and the settings you have chosen.
Changing your mind later
The choice is not one-time. This page is where you review what you agreed to and withdraw it, and withdrawing takes effect immediately rather than at the next visit. If you decline, the site behaves the same way — nothing on it is gated behind analytics consent.
Why this page exists separately
A banner is a poor place to read anything. Putting the settings on their own page means the wording can be complete rather than compressed into a strip at the bottom of the screen, and it gives a stable address to return to. The full account of what is collected is in the privacy policy.
